Our family has been involved in luxury hardwood flooring for over 90 years. Our grandfather Hjalmar Gudbrandsen emigrated to America from Norway in 1927 at the age of 20. 

In 1978 his son John, along with his brother, formed their own wood flooring business, which grew into one of the larger wood floor contracting companies in the Northwest.

Todd and Terry followed in their predecessors’ footsteps by learning and practicing the wood floor trade for several decades, learning all there was to know about their products and procedures, down to the finest detail. After successfully building up their business,  Greenpointe Wood Floor Supply was founded in 2009, and Todd expanded the business to provide wood flooring supplies to the local flooring contractors in the Portland, OR area.

As the trend moved towards wider planks, we could see there was an underserviced section of the market. From our experience in the field, we understood that by creating a higher-quality engineered wood plank, we could offer a product that had as much sanding life as a solid plank but was more dimensionally stable. Castle Bespoke was born in 2014, and since then we have partnered up with several of the finest lumber mills in Europe, who work extensively with us to create our “blank canvas” planks.
